Lagotto Romagnolo Rescue & Rehoming
Thank you for considering the adoption of a retired or rescued Lagotto Romagnolo.
These remarkable dogs are not only exceptional companions but also deeply devoted family members. While Lagotti are still a relatively rare breed, they occasionally need rehoming due to changes in their owners’ circumstances. We are committed to ensuring every Lagotto in need finds a loving, responsible home.
Finding Forever Homes for Lagotti in Need
Unlike in the past, there is no longer a single, nationwide Lagotto rescue organization. Instead, we work closely with trusted breeders, owners, and dedicated individuals across the U.S. to assist in rehoming Lagotti when the need arises.
Rescue and rehoming needs can be unpredictable—some months we take in multiple dogs, while other times, none. If you are interested in adopting a rescue Lagotto, completing our adoption form is the best way to be considered when a dog becomes available.

Do You Need to Rehome a Lagotto Romagnolo?
We understand that life circumstances can change. If you are seeking to rehome a Lagotto Romagnolo, we are here to help. We do not judge—our only priority is the well-being of the dog. We work to ensure every Lagotto finds a home where they will receive the love, care, and stability they deserve.
Commitment to Our Rescued Dogs
When you adopt a Lagotto through our rescue efforts, you will be asked to sign a commitment agreement that reflects our dedication to the breed:

✅ Lifelong Responsibility – You agree to be fully responsible for the dog’s physical, emotional, and financial well-being.

✅ Rehoming Policy – You may not sell, give away, or rehome the dog. If, for any reason, you are unable to continue caring for them, you must return the dog to us.

✅ Spay/Neuter Requirement – If the dog has not been spayed or neutered at the time of adoption, you must ensure the procedure is completed and provide proof to Premier Truffles.
If you’re ready to open your heart and home to a Lagotto Romagnolo in need, we would love to hear from you. Whether you’re considering adopting, fostering, or helping with rehoming efforts, your support makes a difference in the lives of these wonderful dogs.
Let’s give them the second chance they deserve.
